Grace

I have been trying to figure out a way to live my life in a way that brings goodness, peace, and love into my soul. My hope is that it would overflow out onto the relationships I have with my family and those around me. I will admit that it’s not been easy.

Often it feels like a constant uphill battle as every time I think I’m headed in the right direction, I end up realizing that I’m further from where I wanted to be. Things like the not-so-importants creep in and crowd out the things I thought I thought were important or the interruptions that I prefer to view as irritants become sources of shame that I do not want to face.

I realize that my tendency is to look at what I have not done or what I have been doing wrong and I end up beating myself up over all of it.

So, rather than try to figure it out and continue to miss the mark, I am going to live by the words that were spoken to me in the familiar gentle and quiet voice, “Have grace for yourself.”
