Human Kindness

Back when we were in Palma Mallorca I began to pray more earnestly for God to direct our steps and give us wisdom. I knew that June was coming–which meant that we needed to make a decision on whether we were going to continue traveling around Europe for the following school year, come back to the States, or figure something else out. This is when I know God gave me a verse from Hosea 11 verse 4:

“I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love.”

Since then, I have been praying daily that God would continue to lead us with cords of human kindness and with ties of love–unsure as to what that would mean.

There have been three significant answers to this prayer in the last couple of months–and I am more clear and aware of what it means to be led with cords of human kindness and with ties of love–and I am so grateful and amazed at how God works.

From the very beginning of this journey we have been blessed to have 2 families take on our animals. This journey started out as a 1 year commitment and within the last month, both families have said yes, with no hesitation, to adopting our beloved pets. I see these two families as 2 cords of human kindnesses that have become a beautiful part of our life story. These were answers to prayer before I even knew they needed to be prayed for.

More recently I wrote about how we found ourselves a 5th wheel to live in this summer. Not only did we find a fifth wheel, but the current owners offered to store it while we are gone in the fall–for free. I was just blown away by their generous offer.

“I led them with cords of human kindness. With ties of love.”

Pictures–snapshots, really, of how God is taking care of us as we walk by faith. Trusting that He will continue to lead us as we learn to trust His voice through this journey we call “life”.
